About
A culinary institution in Old Dhaka since 1939. Haji Mohammad Ali Biryani is famous for its slow-cooked kacchi biryani where the meat and rice are cooked together in a sealed pot (dum pukht). The secret lies in the aromatic blend of 23 spices.
Schedule
Kacchi biryani here is not just food — it is history. The fragrance from the sealed pot alone is worth the trip to Old Dhaka. Must-try before you die.
Eaten biryani all over Dhaka and this is hands down the best. The meat is fall-off-the-bone tender. The 23-spice blend is unmatched.
Came at 1pm on a Thursday and had to wait 20 minutes. Totally worth it. The beef tehari is also outstanding.
A classic for good reason. The borhani that comes with it is perfect. Slight gripe — parking is impossible in Old Dhaka.
Three generations of my family have eaten here. My grandfather brought my father, my father brought me, and now I bring my children.
The best kacchi in Dhaka without a doubt. A little expensive compared to street food but worth every taka.
